Is there any hard numbers for the improvement with the JCW pipe? The stock pipe seems pretty stiff as it is.
Doubt it really does much, but my impressions after I put it on (nearly 2 years ago...) were a slightly louder turbo and *slightly* more responsive throttle.
Just so you guys know there have been a few issues fitting the JCW pipe to UK cars. One slipped off whilst driving and sucked stuff into the turbo with rumours of another doing the same.
The factory JCWs inlet is a tiny bit bigger than the stock S. Alta sold two different versions of their hard pipe to accomodate this.
I have a 2009 JCW. My first factory inlet tube cracked at the turbo about 4 years ago. Then a few months back I noticed my clamp was loose. Naturally I tightened it up. About a week ago I noticed it was loose again so I tightened it up and went on some errands. Pushed the spirited driving have fun button and started to hear some strange whistling noises. Pulled over and it was loose again. No screwdriver. Wasn't far so went home. Tightened it down. Still whistled. Pulled it off and notice the seal had disintegrated into the turbo. Took the turbo off and I'm sending it to be rebuilt and upgraded. I'm considering buying the aluminum Alta for JCW. I don't like the connection at the turbo on the original JCW design.
