I just bought an OS Giken LSD, and figured that I can just as well have the clutch replaced at the same time...no slipping or anything yet, but the car has 50,000 miles on it, so now's probably as good a time as any to replace it (especially since most of the work is common with the LSD install)...

This bring me to my question: Even though I can have an OEM clutch/FW combination for about $700 if I buy the parts myself, the shop I'm using will not allow me to supply parts they sell themselves - which are, you guessed it, the OEM stuff -> and they charge MSRP for everything which adds up to about $1200 in parts...

I can get a single plate OS Giken clutch/FW combination for $1550.

I would appreciate some opinions: Is it worth the money, and why's it better than the OEM parts?

It's a 2004 S JCW, I track the car regularly, and have a very basic setup (JCW suspension JCW brakes with Carbotech pads & RBF600, IE Fixed camber plates, 20mm rear sway-bar), Way brake ducts (I'm in Phoenix)...

Still, it's my daily driver so I don't want a hyper aggro/noisy setup.

OS Giken LSD, Clutch, and flywheel would be perfect.

 

We sell and use the OS Giken Clutch kits and love em.

The lighter flywheel will help the car rev quicker. Also it will have alot more clamping force, along with their throwout bearing being a much better piece than the OEM bearing.
