Oil in thorttle body intake side...

So I installed the alta cai and noticed a little oily residue in the thortle body. I'm a little worried. Is this normale or is my MINI hurting? Its got 27k on it.

If it is on the inlet side of the T-Body (not opening the throttle plate and sticking your finger inside) it is probably jus over oiled filter syndrome. Which is easily corrected, wrap the filter in a paper towel and lightly squeese the oil out. Your car is fine.

The R53 MINI's seem to get quite a bit more oil vapor coming through the crank case breather than other cars. It might just be that, I would bet that if you pulled your intercooler off there would be quite a bit of oil left in there from the vapor. You could wash it out with a can or two of brake cleaner, and lightly wash off your throttle body at the same time.

Chances are you are ok.

Normal unless it's soaked. Clean the TB off as stated above. I usually do it once a year before track season, plus the intercooler at the same time.
