V2 Technology Exhaust

What's the deal with this? It looks like the Megan exhaust. Does anybody have one?

Edit: On second thought, the seller sounds like a jackass in his description and I wouldn't buy anything from him anyway.

I don't like the fact that he says "If it is damaged, talk to the UPS man - don't bug me" and "I will leave feedback only after you leave me positive feedback." Screw that. If I buy a product I expect it to be in good condition which is a function of how well it is packaged; I pay on time then I expect positive feedback. Period.

[font=Arial][size=5]Attention!!! There has been ONE fitment issue addressed before. The center resonator touches the bottom plate of the car.
As a result, you will need to trim your resonator plate with a dremel maybe about, 1/2 - 1 inch at most to fit the center resonator snugly

That guy needs to find a new vocation. His people skills ain't the best. The exhaust looks nice but has been around long enough that they certainly should have fixed the fitment problems by now.

My advice is to buy the Megan exhaust from Dan. It has a nice tone to it, no droning at speed, but sounds good when you get the revs up.

I like how it basically says the center resonator isn't in the right place, so you have to cut up the central hanger plate Oh, but don't forget there aren't any other fitment issues

I have this exhaust as sold to me by RSpeed (they sold two of these units and stopped selling them because they didn't fit without a modification). Believe it or not, you really can get up the gumption to cut some metal off the bracket where it interferes with the resonator. Then, you just paint the exposed metal. Or you can get crafty and fab your very own bracket.

Incidentally, you can buy a new bracket if you ever wanted to, and I hear they're pretty cheap.

It's OK to cut. At the time I got it, there was nothing available for under $600 and I figured I could cut some metal if it meant saving a couple hundred bucks. The bracket ain't gonna cost me $200. Know'dahmean, Verne?

If you prefer not to cut anything, I'd go for the Megan exhaust as it's priced quite nicely.
Hope all you who fear the grinder always buy brand new homes that never need any repairs or remodeling. Sheesh!

I think you've got it wrong. The points, as I read them, are that this guy is a real jerk to people, even before he sells them something, and that this exhaust system has been around for quite some time and yet the manufacturer still hasn't corrected the problem. Obviously this yahoo has gotten a bit of flack about it, otherwise he wouldn't put all that crap on the auction posting. If it were me, I would be offering these as "seconds" at a discount and "marked down" to the price he is selling them at now.

It's not the fear of the grinder, its the fact that this exhaust was designed and engineered to fit on the car and it doesn't which shows poor design and engineering.

The rest of it is fine.

Incidentally, lots of Magnaflow exhausts (at least earlier ones) fit fine, as did earlier Borla exhausts, but the Magnflows suffered from resonators going kablooie and the Borlas busted at the Y-pipe.

So you could just as easily pay $600 or more (at that time) for an exhaust that fit just fine but crapped the bed due to other design flaws.

Luckily, hindsight is 20/20 and time has told the tales that keep people from buying underengineered designs.

I could build a POS stainless exhaust that fits just fine. Would you like to buy one from me?

MartyR im not trying to bash you at all for getting this exhaust if it works for you then go with it. I just didnt think your analogy was very accurate.

I bought this exhaust. I posted a picture elswehere here showing the minor trimming needed at the resonator support. I really liked the build quality - seemed excellent, and I love the sound. Not very loud, but very smooth and powerful sounding without any droning. I did not dyno before or after so I don't know if it makes more power or not. RSpeed guy who was going to market it said it made more torque than stock. I liked that it uses solid flanges instead of hose clamps or similar to hold it together.

heck the reason for his 100 % feedback score is he is putting the fear of god into people, that if they leave any bad feedback he will leave you bad feedback so basically if you leave him bad feedback your screwedso ta heck with him i left him a nice littel email !!!

It's not an analogy at all. Syllogistic, perhaps, but not an analogy.

There will always be the person who is willing to spend more money than the next person in order to do less work. I think we can all agree on that!

I didn't feel "bashed" at all, just pointing out the inconsistencies in your logic. Now, if only I could get my hands on every exhaust out there to do a side-by-side-by-side comparo...

i sent him a message saying perhaps he should reword his terms and maybe he would get more buisness and not scare of so many customers

and i got a nice reply back here is what he told me!!!!!

Hi sir,

Thank you for your e-mail.

I value all input from bidders and watchers alike.

I have intended to steer away dead beat bidders and unpleasant scammers
on ebay.

I assist my buyers very courteously and respectfully.

I frankly do not care. As always, I treat everybody with respect
before I make a judgement. A statement of rules and regulations hardly
makes for a comparative analysis of character or personality. You my
friend, have made a grave mistake.

In any case, I take all comments into consideration.
If you do not feel comfortable doing business with me please do not. I
highly encourage you to do business elsewhere.

Lastly, I apologize if I have offended you with my remarks, but i am
very serious about business so If you do not have anything to say,
please refrain from doing so.

Thank you and have a great day
