Im in the middle of an engine rebuild and looking at prices, MINI gave me a $850 price for Rod & Main bearings. MiniMania is priced a little less at about $700 before shipping.

Has anyone gone with any other bearing manufacturers/vendors for less $$ ?

Has anyone re-used their bearings? The motor has 114k on it, decently hard miles but the failure was a piston ring/compression issue. The shop that's rebuilding it says that bearing replacement is standard practive, and for $100 for all bearings, I wouldnt even think about it. but for $700+ i'm starting to wonder what the best decision is.

any help would be greatly appreciated.
