I see that the alta cai in on special I would like to know if this cai (without silicone hose) sounds just as good as the ones with the silicone hose? Do these hoses make any sound differences?

 

PM tcscb1963 he has one for sale that is pretty new for a good price.

 

As far as SC whine acoustics goes, they sound the same to me. But with the silicon hose installed, the system developed a high pitched "whistling" noise.

 

I swapped mine for the M7, purely because I liked the look, no performance issues. The car is definitely quieter with the M7, I thought you could hear more supercharger with the Alta.

 

I am pretty sure you are hearing the throttle plate at mid throttle.

 

I looked around and decided to go with the Alta CAI with the silicone hose. I bought one of these this month on special and put it on the car. Personally, I like a little bit of noise and think its cool; but honestly with some music on you wont really hear any noise unless you above 4 or 5k rpms.

I don't have driving experience without the silicone hose, not sure if it noticeable helps but sure does look cool .

I also put the box top on mine. Never drove it wthout the top but that may be another cheaper way to get more or less sound. This is another look cool item which is on the sale list too.

And the price is very fair considering the great fit and quality of the parts and cost of other intakes i checked out on other sites.
