If you must waste money buy the nm engineering hardpipes

What are you talking about? I gained 50 hp when I installed boost tubes

is it because they don't add power? or make the car worse?

Hard tubes are really the way to go if you're wanting to do this. NM Engineering is pretty well reviewed.

Alta tubes have a lot of fit issues reported (including my personal experience) on their silicon tubes. I haven't heard too much about their hard tubes.

Nice bling, but don't expect significant performance gains.

rather than throw money away for boost tubes, why not donate bucks to a local animal shelter and help some dogs?

kudos for learning from others' experiences. my alta boost tubes wore out in less than 7500 miles and sounded like a ill cow moaning. $300 wasted.

You know I agree with you most of the time and we have the same thinking but give boost tubes a break! You have to admit that if one were to change one boost tube to change performance and limit restriction in the charge air circuit it would be the hot side boost tube with that ridiculous muffler.

I've had both silicone and hard boost tubes. I still have a silicone turbo inlet tube. Avoid Alta's silicone cold side boost tube like the plague. It is way too big and will get worn out from either the valve cover bolt that sits closest to it, or other things poking out near the throttle body.

There is definitely a little better throttle response and torque gain with the either hard or silicone. Don't expect a miracle though.

If you want to pay for real power, buy a catless downpipe, ECU tune, a FMIC.

I can tell you why these turds do not work.the muffler delete and the factory hardpipe that feeds the coldside tube are the most restrictive parts in the whole system of pipes.and guess what NOBODY MAKES A AFTERMARKET REPLACEMENT hardpipe .

surely Macedo has the means to fab one up? I'd buy one.

M7 makes a hot side tube out of silicone that I was thinking of getting. How can a tube wear out?

Poorly designed tubes rub against metal parts because they have a bad fit. This will cause holes.

So can anybody comment on the M7 vs the NM Engineering tube? The NME tube has more parts and clamps, so logically that's not always a good thing. I've heard the M7 stuff is pretty decent.

I've had my m7 tube on for about 80000 miles between the two cars I've had it on with no problems . There is a little rubbed spot by the water tank but it's not deep.

So the ALTA tubing is a waste of money?

NM eng pipes have silocone couplers with hard pipes and M7 is purely silicone.

Look up silicone vs. hard boost tubes on google and you'll find out reasons why hard is better.

DING DING DING DING DING!

NM eng is much better. When Exhaust Depot is back up and running, their hard pipes are also very nice.

I was going to say if you didnt have an intake, the K&N pretty much comes with the turbo inlet hard tube. Nice and smooth.
