The bumpers are supposed to offer some protection, by removing this 14 pounds of weight how much of the strength of the bumper is being compromised in your opinion? A little or a lot? Since the crash test of the MINI so good I would hate to alter that nice safety feature. Sort of like punching holes in my seatbelt buckles to save weight (I know it's not that bad).

For anyone that carries a spare MINI tire (those with MC and stock wheels) can leave it off for track days or any of the toolkits or MINI jack.

Anybody make a lightweight helmet?

BlueMCS, and those wheels they don't look particularly safe either, how's that?
Geez, I see what happens when you don't march to the party line maybe I won't mention that my after market parts don't all come from the after market.
You really took a beating over there, keep up the good work!

I think I'll wait a few days and then do a How-To for the rear bumper.

Hey Peter -

As the lightest and fastest in SoCal I assume that you have done far more illegal and unsafe things to your car than I could ever imagine.

I could sure use the addition of your $.02 over in Mini2!

Besides, it was really your idea!!

Hey blue....

That was something else dude

I think that removing stuff out of YOUR car is very sensible, it makes it faster better handling stopp on a dime
which meens easier on the brakes, less stress on the suspension, tires and better fuel economy.........WOW.

Here's a tail why lighter is better (read faster). New Years day we had a little canyon run with a club in town.
Now this is a group with Porsches, Lambos, BMW etc, so very fast cars and BIG egoes. We got in to the canyons
and guess what, my little light weight monster took on the fastest cars with no problems and if there would have been some room to pass they all would have lost

Now with that said my car has a killer suspension and is settup to handle like a gocart, and thats what made me fast(*)
Not pulleys, cold air intakes, custom chipping, I guess I surprised some other mini owners after that run.

To summ it up blue, to go fast work on your driving, prep your car to perfection with the best light weight
products you can afford and you WILL be faster!!!!!!!!

(*) killer driver

And as always call me with your questions, pick my brain I LOVE IT.....
