Thats a nice improvement. You may want to talk to Ken. He's thinking of a tune on his 135. Selling his MINI

This is killing me! Jan will be here in Northern VA in a couple of weeks and I'm liking the numbers that you guys are posting. I especially love the comment about having a place to go when you downshift and step on it! I may not sleep for a week before our tuning date!

I previously had my car tuned by Jan in Rochester last spring. I have since had 380cc injectors installed.
Jan retuned my car today and smoothed out some bumps in the power delivery. For a mid 2002 Cooper S with 105,500 on the odo it still broke the 200whp barrier on the Helix 'Heartbreaker' dyno. I managed so pick up another 9hp and 8;b/ft at the wheels with the 380cc injectors over the last tune with the stock injectors.

Great time hanging out and chatting with Eric, Ralph, Jan, Tim & Mike.

Glad to see you picked up some from Rochester last year. Your old motor still seems happy.

Hey Larry,
My mistake - I could have sworn that I was told Dave was in on Tue - but anyways he should be there now cooling the motor.

Yep, it's sure fun to be able to go up to 7.2k every now and then.

Okay so I'm back from Helix and I have to say I am VERY pleased with my tune. There is a pretty big difference in power, and I was having a lot of fun on the highway. My friend with a Stage 2 STI used to pull bus lengths on me on the highway, now it's only a couple of car lengths

The TQ increase is pretty awesome, and so is the HP increase, although as Jan pointed out, power up top is limited by my stock FMIC... I know i'll be picking up a Helix FMIC this summer to fix that.

Either way, this car really pulls now. Put your foot down in 6th gear and you quickly realize how big of a difference this tune makes.

So as for numbers:
Baseline dyno: 173whp and 207wtq
After tune: 188whp and 250wtq

Peak gains: +15whp and + 43wtq

(I think Jan might have gotten a couple of more hp on the last dyno pull, but I didn't get the numbers on that one)

And keep in mind, this is on Helix's 'heartbreaker' dyno which reads a bit low

PS- Sorry for the horrible "scan" of my graph, the only camera i had around was my iPhone

That's an amazing amount of torque gained!

hey john,

yes, jan wound up doing a street tune in carlisle as the mini would not go on the dynapac with the tsw lug conversion kit....we had a good time beating up on acura integras...which the local kids there seem to favor. but unfortunately no #'s were available. the car was noticably quicker.

meanwhile, as you know, i have gone back to the stock header. being the loudest mini at events, not to mention my daily commute got pretty old. so, with a 15% pulley, rmw street cam, jcw injectors, and the milltek i wound up with 195 ft-lb torque and 195 whp. my gains over the baseline pull were modest, but the drivability/butt dyno factor was definitely improved

i suspect that with an lsd, i will be much more of a force at the track this year....albeit a quieter force

dave, are you there yet?

All he really added was the meth kit since last year. I just want to see how much his numbers have changed with it.

yeah definitely not as much fun for me anymore lol. Now I have no chance of beating you in auto-x unless you cant put the power down, thats my only shot. In case anyone was wondering with these numbers you will pull on a stock sti and be a good run for a stage 1 sti

I am still here and it is hot as he'll. It is 95 in the dyno room!
I had to dump the 50/50 meth/water boost juice and go pick up am $8.00 gal of pure vp meth from the getto.
Car on dyno now doing pulls and getting tuned.

Why pure meth. Didn't you have a mix in it before. Can't see running pure meth on the street. Were you running shitie washer fluid? I can see a mix of pure meth and water.
