Thanks to everyone for your opinions. I appologise for the capitals, (i wasn't shouting). I think that the MCS is the next step and it should really have been the first. You see I have to travel down the M60 every day and night to get to work and back with the Mrs as my co-driver. Now my cooper is pretty reliable (up to yet) and not bad on juice with great looks(thanks to 18"OZ Titans, and Shark grill ventS) which is why i purchased the car.( The mrs wanted a 2.0 Zetec Focus, Ha. Never seen it love.) The only problem is that when you get a Merc, Beemer, Impreza or anything with a 2.0L up your rear end trying to get past you, the MC cant give them a run for their money( even though i have had 127mph out of it. not bad)so thats why i wanted to hide a nice 170-200bhp lump under the bonnet of my MC. This is now never going to happen with the MC as i do not want to kill the thing by adding all the spec you guys have provided me with, i would just rather sell it and put the rest to a MCS. The MC is a wonderful little motor and it will always be my favourite as it is my first motor. I just crave more speed and performance-MCS.

How reliable would the MCS be on the M60?

Would i be best off buying a second hand one(cheaper) which means more mods sooner or should i go all the way and get a branny 04' MCS and wait a bit longer for the mods?

What are modified MCS's llike on juice and reliability?

Thanks
again folks.
Maximus.

I would say to go ahead and get a brand new MCS. The resale value on MINI's is still very high and you wont spend all that much more on a new one than a used one.

For bang for your buck mods for your new 2004 MCS, I would suggest simply doing the reduction pulley and a chip. That way your MCS will look stock except for the slightly noticeable pully, and you will have a nice boost in power.

I would get a new one. I'm not one for used cars personally.
I've not been to England for years....
My partner used to live in Illford-Essex...? I remember driving a right side drive MGB...thru the local roundabouts...and how weird it was to do so!!!
We used to sell Woolies ...&... SuperDrug?
Many moons ago though..

Peace,
