Evotech Software Tune

Has anyone tried the evotech software upgrade? I know everyone seems to be on the RMW bandwagon and it appears they make great tunes however, I'd like to hear some opinions of the evotech option if anyone is currently running with it. Thanks.

The only reason I ask is because there is a local vendor for EvoTech and as far as I know, they haven't upgraded an R56 yet. The idea is very tempting but I certainly don't want to be a "first mover" for something like this.

i'd find out if EvoTech is out of the box or if it's tailored to what mods are on your car... if the latter then i say go for it!

It's slighlty tailored to your mods, but its still a canned tune.

so basically it's like getting a sports jacket... typical ones are just a 40... the ones that are slightly tailored are 40R or 40S etc. but to get it specifically to you you need a tailor to take your measurements and go from there... just like our cars you need the custom dyno tunes to get the most out of your mods...

I have the Evotech tune, and it was all done via a dyno. The tune took about 1 hour with about 4-5 dyno pulls to get the test results. They were on the phone with the Evo which took the results and tuned it accordingly. I have not had a single problem. I absolutely love it, the only option I wish (and I am looking into it) is to firm up the shifts a bit more. Other than that not a single issue (meaning no CEL's) and I have been running with it for about a year now. You can read about my install here: Dyno (with mods)

Thanks for the feedback! Are you still running the stock exhaust?

We do custom tuning here in Atlanta, if that works for you. I honestly haven't seen any Evotech tuned R56's yet. So only time will tell, but the ECU on the R56 is a HUGE peice of the power puzzle.

yes the exhaust is stock. Also its an auto tranny which sucks a little hp, and dyno's were run on a mustang dyno (reads a little lower than other dyno's).
