I asked this before but I am looking at 17" wheels that weigh 16 lbs each and I want to see if the expense is justified.

2minis,
I think it's very justified.....
I could be wrong but I think the R85's are around 22-23 lbs each.
I'll see if I can find more info and will post here if I do.
Happy Motoring,
SW

The best data I could find was:
1. R85 S-spoke wheels: 25.1 lb each
2. R90 cross-spoke wheels: 24.1 lb each

This, and other data is at:
http://mini.loonybin.net/wheels/

or:
http://www.europeanspeed.com/wheelweights.htm

For Christmas, I'm asking for the BBS RK wheels (17x8", 15.5 lb each). Of course, it would help if I had a MINI to put them on

We just wieghed these tires last week.

17" Mini Lite wheels with Kumho ECSTA 711

48 Pounds.

We had the Perrelli Run Flats that have inch thick side walls. WOW. What a difference when we went to the Kumho.

Then we went to a 38 lb wheel tire combo using a 16x8 16 lb wheel. So, these Kumho tires wiegh in at 22 ilbs.

HUGH difference.

Diamond Racing even has a 17x8 17 lb wheel. Drivability is incredible. Looks are even better.

>>David,
Thanks for the outstanding info. I think Kosei Racing K1s and Yoko AVES ES 100s 215 45 17" is the way I am going and from the info. you've supplied I'll be going there a wee bit faster....
Thanks,
Michael
