How do I get this engine bush out?

Been trying for the last 20 mins, no success. Anybody have any pointers on how to get this darn thing out? I am replacing it with the purple powerflex version
Everything has been unbolted already.

Thanks much in advance!

try removing it from vehicle (use jack and wood to hold engine up ). and press it out with vise and socket .

Thanks for the pointer. I'd prefer not to totally loosen the engine I'm even contemplating drilling it out

You need to press it out. Theres a simple tool you can make for this.

You need a threaded rod, two nuts, a piece of tubing and two washers.

The threaded rod and nuts should have the same thread, and should fit inside the hole on the bushing. The tube should be about 3 inches long, and the ID should be greater than that of the bushing. One washer should have a diameter that the same or larger than the piece of tubing, and the other washer should be the same size or slightly smaller than the bushing.

Assemble like so...

--0-)---[____]--||--(0-

Nut, washer, tube, (bushing) washer, nut, with the rod in the middle.

Tighten the nut on the right so you have a few threads engaged, then torque the left net down till the bushing pops.

Thanks k! I eventually got it out. I got a stanley knife and cut away the edges of the rubber and then knocked it out with a hammer. Was rather quick and easy
