new Manual Trans at 63005

I had noticed for a long long time that 3rd gear was a little notchier then the rest of the gears. I assumed that this was normal due to the rediculous shift linkage setup. ( take a look under your airbox sometime )
anyways i was just driving along about a week ago and was about at 3500 rpms and tried to go from 2nd to 3rd and it felt like there was no spot to put the shifter. almost like someone welded the shift gate for 3rd gear shut. the next time i upshifted from 2nd to 3rd it was ok. this went on for a few days before it started to do it everytime. I got the car looked at by Mini and they told me that my sychronisers for 3rd gear are going bad. I bought the car used in 04 and still had a little bit of CPO so yayyyy! new manual trans for me!
Im having a new clutch put in while its apart and im also having my Alta Short Shift kit installed.
Does anyone know what shift **** options i have to replace the Alta **** besides Whalen?
