What Royal Purple do you use?

Okay I have spent the last 4 days going through post trying to figure out which grade of Royal Purple engine and gear oil is being used in the MCS's. This is not about what is best or what will make my Mini explode in a ball of flames.

Just a simple question of what is being used?

Thank You

I beleive the correct engine oil is 5W40 because of it's "CS" rating.

I have been using the Synchromax trans oil for a while and I am not thrilled with it. It performs "ok", better at higher temps, but it's not a fit for me.
I'll be switching to MTL in the next couple weeks.

I do, however, like their engine oil.

5-30 mostly because of spec.
I don't have much heat or cold to worry about here in Chattanooga.

I've been using 5-30 since September last year, about 4800 miles and no problems that I know of. Of course the only way to really figure things out is to get an analysis done. Next time it gets low I am going to add some 5-40 to it just to thicken up the mix a little.

FWIW, i live in the south and this week it has been in the 90's and my autometer oil temp gauge never went over 215deg in stop and go. I'm using RP 10-40 and have since last year with no problems what so ever.As far as the trans goes its Redline MTL for me,shifts much better.
