DDM Street Intake ...needed some adjusting
Got my DDM street intake the other day and had to make an adjustment to get it to fit correctly. Not a big deal, yet curious if anyone else has had this issue:
The intake housing would not sit on the base of the stock intake housing correctly as the DDM housing doesn't allow room for the solenoid/sensor that is on the other side of our fuel injectors. I had to get a tungsten carbide tip for my dremel and cut away and smooth the housing so that it would fit correctly. I actually didn't mind doing this and kind of enjoy these types of projects. Yet I was curious if anyone else has encountered this? The notch shown in the photos is what I cut/removed.
(see photos).
Oh, by the way, the intake works great and shows a real improvement in performance.

No apology needed,
I didn't mind the extra work at all, ...just wanted to make I didn't miss something or installed it incorrectly?! I love DIY car projects and excuses to get a break from the wife + kids to chill in the garage, have a beer (or two) crank up the tunes and work on the car. Good fun!
Yeah the intake works great. I know there is debate on how much power these intakes really give, yet I swear there is a very noticeable difference in performance and gas mileage. I am averaging about 1-2 mpg better than I was and my car seems more responsive and quicker.
-thanks ...I am master w/ the Dremel tool I used a grease pencil to make the cut mark then took my time to cut then polish the metal.

I had to trim the piece as well. You did a much better job than I did, looks good
