Nice Ride I take it the carbon fiber hoods and bonnets are special order since I haven't seen them on any sites. Those O.Z. wheels? If not, they still look sweet! Its all good. Try talking to Porsche purists about 914's in the PCA. Despite the fact they saved the company in the early 70's, they still aren't considered "real" Porsches. I'd be surprised if I didn't get any "so you want to do what?" comments.

Trip before last I had stopped a Mini on 33rd South and 7th East and was giving him props. I was telling him who I was and that I had a Mini (I was in my Touareg) and he said to join him as they were about to head on the Moab run.....

You could show the potential customer the average Hp and TQ as shown on the original printout at the bottom. But it has great peak numbers
Even my 260whp M45 has much better area under the curve.
I really don't care who buys what, but the skewing of, and spreading of, disinformation is staggering.

I do agree with you, the internet is a great resource, but also a detriment, seeing how easily mis-information is disseminated. There are claims of 260+whp and even 280+whp M45 MINIs out there. I have seen and built quite a few MINIs over the years and have yet to see a 260+whp 1.6L M45 stock compression MCS. I have seen 260+ hp M45 MCS dyno tuned at Shawn Church's facility and he correctly and clearly states that these numbers are hub horsepower based on his equipment; nothing ambiguous there. Dynamometers are useful when used for tuning purposes. Unfortunately, they are also used for promotional purposes and ultimately, the consumer needs to be aware of what the industry standards or references are. Speaking from my experience only, a 260+ hub horsepower MINI is a fast MINI, but nothing compared to a 260+whp MINI. At our facility, we dyno test and tune all different marques with all different HP levels. I have always been open to new ideas, products, and configurations and relish the opportunity to see and learn new things everyday. If anyone in SoCal has a 260+whp 1.6L M45 stock compression MCS, there is an open invitation for you to come down and dyno test your vehicle for free. I look forward to learning something new....
