Anyone fitted a boost controller?

and maybe a How To????
Thanks guys!

basically if you get your car tuned and you have it pushing 21lbs of peak boost you can use a boost controller to lower is for say everyday driving a valet or something like that. if you dont have it tuned and you put it on there and turn up your boost from stock, say byebye to you engine
well on my coupe fiat I had a blitz one and I had it tuned.. and I could switch between the 1bar turbo pressure and 1.38bar.. with in scramble mod 1,45bar. You can tune the car to the max because you can reduce the boostpeaks..
I have seen a duell ag MINI with a blitz Id-III but don't know how he managed to install it. I love the looks etc.
Mostly I like to see what my boost is and I would like to put the pressure low on "normal" days and higher when playing..
I am pushing 215bhp now... and am about buying a FMIC and bigger downpipe.
this is why :D

Yeah, I'd stay away from manual boost controllers unless your car is a track car. I've seen many o' bad things happen when people play with their boost by themselves. It's a shame the whole Alta Unichip thing didn't really work out. That was a great idea. But I hear that they're working on an alternative. I'd wait and see what they come out with.
manual boos controlers are bad news because you can't see how much you are adjusting them. electronic boost controlers are good you can adjust the boost amount by decibles so you will always know what the peak boost will be. i am going to buy one of these and set it to 14.5 wich is my stock boost and i will leave it there till i get the car tuned.

Were they just exchanging the Unichip units if you were throwing CEL's?
Yeah, I know. I would have loved to get one, but didn't want to risk throwing CEL's all over the place. It was definitely an awesome idea, though! And I bet it rocks for you guys that haven't had any problems.

Now its fine no CELs at all, the ONLY difference or side-effect would be it takes like 1-2 more cranks to start when its a cold-start. Besides that, no CELs or any other side-effects. Whatever was defective I shipped back, a few items I have received from Alta were defective so I shipped it all in one shipment.
There is another chip called powerchip, I talked with them on the phone they claimed it can increase 40+ whp for the r56 turbo. It could also be tuned for the boost controller and other mods. I am getting this along with water injection .

It's your car - do what you want. I wouldn't do it.

Do you really think they know what they are talking about?
Not to mention you have to pull your ECU from the car and mail it to them.
Well, I called them in California, they told me they tested it for the mini r56 turbo the result was 40 whp plus... but the marketing division post 24 whp on the website. Its depends where you live, they might have a dealers near by, they told me i could get its done in NY and NJ.
