Hello,

I'm going to be getting a New Mini here soon. I'd like to get an Aero kit and Possibly the JCW package. but I'm on a budget, and I've asked my dealer as well as a few other places but no one can seem to answer my question to my satisfaction.

Can I purchase just the kit from the dealer and get it fitted by myself?
If not how do I get an offical Aero Kit without going to a dealer?
If I have to go through my dealer to get the kit, can I get the kit later on after say 6 months or so?

I asked JCW if I could get there kit, and they said I'd have to go through my dealer. Can I get just the kit and fit it myself? The JCW isn't a priority at the moment though not sure if I even want it, probably could get better performance out of after market kits.

Thanks,
Dd.

If I were on a budget, I would first take delivery of my MINI and enjoy it for a few months, break the engine in, and get some miles on the new MINI to ensure that there are no initial warranty issues that need to be dealt with.

One thing you could do as an alternative to the Aero Kit would be to buy just the Aero side skirts and have them as well as your wheel arches painted to match the body color. Add some good looking aftermarket grills and you will have a nicely modified body without spending too much on the complete Aero Kit.

As for the JCW kit, you can get the same sort of performance for about 1/3 the price with aftermarket products. I would highly suggest that you give Randy at Webb Motorsports ( http://www.webbmotorsports.com )a call and he will work with you to put together a package of mods that will suit your budget as well as your desire for more performance.

Welcome to MCO, enjoy the new MINI and read as much as you can in the forums here. You will find more info on mods here than you can shake a stick at!

I'm seconding Yucca's thoughts.

Get the car, enjoy it, and you can always do the aerokit / jcw / aftermarket mods later. If you get the aero kit, check out classic auto campus / classic MINI. They are an MCO sponsor, and sell the original MINI parts at a good discount.

classic auto campus

I would recommend calling them.
