I'm Rockin' the Alta Turboback...

I took a half day from work and drove out to Alta on wednesday morning to have the exhaust system installed by Jeff. But before I go off on how great this thing sounds, allow me to take a moment to mention just how impressed I was at level of customer service offered up to me. I had some other minor issues related to my suspension that both Jeff and Adam took time out to help me with (I sat there and listened to Jeff miss numerous phone calls) and at no extra charge!

I love the way this exhaust sounds. The first thing I noticed when driving out of the parking lot was the extra bit of grut the car has when you first get on it. excellent! This is just what I wanted.

Thank you Adam and Jeff

Adam,

Now that you guys have a JCW, how would you say the turboback sounds in comparison with the stock JCW exhaust? Thanks!

ps: Tell your swaybar manufacturer to hurry up and make somemore!! I can't wait to bolt on the 19mm that I just ordered

The JCW exhaust is more abrupt is the best way I can put it. The ALTA is smoother. But the JCW isn't like bad or anything.

I am pushing on the bars right now. Thanks for your patience!

Haha thanks. I live Aventura also and work in Davie. I see you have a drop with the fixed plates, no alignment place knows how to align these cars . We should meet up sometime, have you ever seen the Minis of Miami club?

All these shops say they have the "best person in the house" working on them. When I go to inspect the car, same crap! Very visible negative camber on the back.

Next payday is this coming up Saturday... thinking about getting the downpipe half of my ALTA exhaust. Can't wait... it seems a lot of people love the sound!

That is what is missing from my car... I have great intake sound, but it makes the exhaust sound... unsatisfactory... it is so quiet...

I would love a downpipe on my car but I am not quite ready to pull the trigger until I know for a fact that it would not cause any CELs.

I have the Alta turboback exhaust on my R56 and it does indeed kick ***!! I got the P0420 code and have to install the spacers. I'll keep the group updated.

Agreed, I have had ZERO fitment issues during install and have had a great experience with ALTA and the performance gains. I would install the ALTA system, perfect fitment and cheaper now then when I bought it...seems like a no brainer.

CELS? Only once, but not ALTA's fault, I didn't tighten a V-Band enough. After that, no issues since. Had it on for about 9,000 miles now.

I get people sayying the exhaust is a different sound than you usually hear...and when it pops, they see why!

Because I am particular about my car...I actually went the extra step and welded the mid pipe to the muffler to ensure no leaks, even though I wasn't getting any, I decided for 70 bucks, what the hell!

Some pictures...no CEL's or leaks to date since.

Also, a nifty, cheap trick for trying to keep exhaust movement to a minimum...if you dont want to buy polyurethane bushings for the exhaust, stick 2 13 to 14mm bolts in the center of the rubber brackets. It works!
