kalbone, have you faced any tire spinning issues? I'm concerned with torque speed with the Mini front wheel drive. Also how would you put such a power (300+ WHP) on the ground without having the car losing grip??

Built Head - P&P, valves, valve springs, etc.
Built Bottom-end - rod and pistons
custom turbo header made by Hubie
custom intake manifold
custom A2A FMIC
Garrett GT2860R turbo which is pretty small
Quafie LSD
Spec Stage 4 clutch

for the whole package your looking at $10-15k to do it right the first time.
Wow, that's an azz load of money.... I hope this is a race car and not a daily driver....

That's cool... a monster and a dd with all the extras. Best of both worlds.

Kal - Are you still using the OEM axles? Or did you find an aftermarket solution?

I'm just curious if other stuff starts breaking. There comes a point that the factory stuff just doesn't hold up... ie, clutches, pulleys, etc, etc...

Kal's motor and drivetrain have been built to support the power. Kal is running a stage 4 clutch which has a max of 450ft lbs of torque, pullies don't break, transmission has been holding 650whp on the MINIusa Drag car fine its just that weak point after 500whp the axles sort of let go.

Right he has it built for the power he wants to make which is 300-350 which for the motor is head and pistons. Now to go crazy take it one step further and get rods then it would be a fully built motor for 700+crank HP

Wow, that's quite an extensive mod list. Puts mine to shame really.
I've seen the turbo add-ons for the R53, but didn't ever read about anyone actually having one. Looks pretty sick. Nice job Kal!

This car is currently at ABF and will be alive and well very soon... stay tuned. For those of you who I know are going to ask, this car was down for many reasons. Clutch, slave, driver error, no time no money no inspiration no willingness and most of all, no reason to spend time and money. But I am glad to hear that it will be back soon, and can't wait to have it back on the road...

Last time I saw it it was back together and running. Probably would have been faster if some one didn't jack the tranny .
