Drivetrain Rogue Engineering Exhaust & Short Shift - My latest MC mods
I found a reliable source for a few good mods - Rogue Engineering.com
The first mod was the Short Shift. A great price, incredibly easy install, and it DID reduce throw a substantial amount without a bit of stick vibration.
I just put the Rogue Exhaust on and it is a truly unbelieveable addition. I've witnessed Borla, Remus, and Helix, but Rogue's is the best yet.
The install was simple enough. In 20 minutes I started the car, newly equipped with a pretty mean, yet subtle growl at idle. This exhaust really adds to your low end....it punches in first and second. On the highway and on the streets, it packs a great sound for a MINI, not a ricey Honda Civic sound (they disgust me). As for the rest of the gears 3,4,5 there is the presence of added power that gives quicker response to the throttle. Downshifting, the exhaust has an eminating sound that is out of this world.
With the addition of my "chopper" BMP/ ProMINI intake, this combination does not dissapoint.

It may take a few more minutes, but having the car jacked up rather than lifted should not be problematic for intalling your exhaust....same goes for the short shift install.
The short shift requires NO interior work.
1- First, you must remove the two nuts that hold the exhaust onto the cat tubes.
2- Next, remove that black metal plate on the exhaust to lower it (make sure something is under the exhaust to support it)
3- Then, pull the heat shield down towards the rear end of the car, enough for removal or just to get access to the clutch box.
4- Take the lower box cover off, and use ALOT of strength (aided with a long pipe) to pop the linkage off (but make sure that the linkage doesn't bend)
5- intall short shift piece, tighten set screws on the short shift, and heat the shrink wrap over the screws to ensure that the screws wont back out.
6- The clutch box lower plate is not to be put back on, so don't worry about it....just put the rest of the pieces back as they were
