B&M metal bushings AND Craven Speed SSK???

any one tried this?

or, one of the other ssk with metal bushings?

i have the cravenspeed (for about a year now) always at the lowest setting and it's definitely better than stock, but it's far from great (IMO).

i'm planning on adding the tsw engine damper and hoping to get a little closer to my idea of perfection in shifting (my god, if you can find someone with a 987 boxster with the Schnell SSK - you might just never get out of the car!!!!!) - but i'd like to hear if anyone not only has done
1)metal bushings with the cravenspeed OR
2)the cravenspeed with the tsw OR
3)metal bushings with cravenspeed AND the tsw
but has also compared 1, 2 or 3 to just the cravenspeed with stock bushings and/or no tsw.

obviously, adding tsw not much of a big deal, but to go about finding/buying the metal bushings is a little more work (especially since I've already had the SSK in for a while).

thanks

I have the B&M shorty shifter kit along with the included metal bushings, a TSW engine damper and full polyeurtheine engine and gearbox mounts.

Shifting is very nice. I think it could be improved further if the shifter cables were changed to ones with less flex, but its just a theory.

daily driver, weekend toy or both? does vibration ever exceed the fun factor?

the stock shifter is excellent IMO with polyeurathane ireland engineering engine and tranny bushings... I think maybe adding the helix kit would be best with a whalen weighted shiftnob... when racing you dont want the shifter too low as it takes your second hand off the wheel more resulting in less control... I can shift the stock one fast enough to be happy... its all timing

Until recently, a daily driver. Now more for weekend fun and the odd track day. I also use her for long trips. the NVH isnt a problem at all. None of my passengers have never complained either (well, not about NVH).

Myself and the GF are considering driving down to Italy and back to do the Italian Job run next year, and we wouldnt consider it in a car with excessive NVH.

Currently running the set up like you want. And I have zero regrets, other than I wish I bought the TSW engine dampner before the hunk o junk LOTF one. I think I will throw in a poly tranny mount next and see if that gets me closer to Utopia. Get it w a Whalen shift **** and you will love it.

actually have the ac schnitzer **** (which is weighted), but currently running a very nice 07/08 Audi TT style **** that is actually heavier than the schnitzer aluminum ****.

hoping for the TSW damper for xmas and currently prowling ebay for one of those b&m ssk knock offs to fit an '05 - gonna call b&m after the thanksgiving to see if they'll sell me just the bushings.
