B&M shift kit install - HELP

I can't get the shift cable disconnected from the shifter. I've tried several methods, but no luck.

Use either needle nose pliers or interior panel trim removal tool....and put your back into it! The cables can be a real pain to remove, just be sure to pull/lever them off by the inner ball socket and not the outer ring.

Got it! Ended up using a small crowbar. Fit the inside of housing so had good leverage. Give it a sharp rap and it popped off.
