The Beru ultra x-plugs work well but I'm not sure they have an app for mini yet. These would be worthy of checking out I'm sure. Very respected in the 928 world.
Might be worth checking out Randy!

Randy,
Just to ask, it would be interesting to test the Plasma Booster also with various ignition upgrades like:
The pilo ignition upgrade set (coil, wires and colder/normal plugs)
The MSD ignition upgrade with MSD ignition wires from Cat and Dog racing.
And the use of Magnecor and Nology wires mixed and matched with the above.
Sorry so many options but for us consumers it is a bit confusing.
Bottom line with the PB which combination of parts seems to make the most benefit for an MC vs an MCS?

Plasma booster convert. For me what has me sold on the PB is the smoothness of the accleration . It was obvious from the first moment i started the car. Personaly i dont care if it saves me one drop of gas as long as the perceved peformance increase is there. I wasnt aware of how irregular the accelleration of the stock S is i until i took the 15 min to install the booster. All the little peaks and valleys as you run up the rev range are GONE. Figuring out the math as to when the item pays for itself is hilarious as you completely discount the other benefits which you feel with every push of the fun pedal. If you really want great milage there is a company that has a ton of great items , its called Schwin

Hi Randy,

I totally agree with your comments about the M7 Plasma Booster. After installation of my PB, I immediately noticed the smoothness of engine response all the way to the red line range. As far as fuel consumption is concerned, that has not been my issue, otherwise, I would have bought one of the hybrid cars. It seems inappropriate for some of the nay-sayers to be applying a cost-benefit analysis (vis-a-vis fuel economy) to the PB. You and I know that many of us bought our cars for performance and handling. If there happens to be some improvement in fuel economy from a particular accessory, that is just frosting on the cake.

Don't forget Button Willow in December...

>>If the fuel savings are around 30 miles (about a gallon for us) a tank, at these gas prices over 2 bucks/gallon, that is pretty sweet. I'm sure we'll start seeing some #'s on this also - not just some bozo saying that he's not pumping gas as often <<

Unfortunately, this hasn't happened. I was just about ready to plunk down my $250 for one of these, but I thought I'd wait to see if the mileage gains were more universally established. Now I'm glad I waited. Has anyone actually documented a mileage gain with the plasma booster?

Also, smoother acceleration sounds nice, but I already improved in that category when I installed the Magnecor plug wires. Would this device do anything different to improve response further?

I'm sure some have reached 84 tank fills by now... any updates?

So did this plasma thing ever really do anything? And does a good tune not accomplish this such goal?
