Manual Boost Controller

Can we mount a boost controller in our cars?

I just asking because somebody told me to install one to mantain the boost psi high and don't let the turbo drop the psi.

Wish it was that easy!

Not certain, but I'm pretty sure the increased boost levels would cause the ECU to freak out. Someone with more knowledge might be able to better explain.
