Just wondering if it is any good. A friend had his deisil ford set up with a hood scoop system like this and he got a great horsepower gain ot of it.

ram air scoops on a turbo car dont really do anything.

 

I have that intake system (DDMWorks Race Intake System) on my car and it made a very noticeable difference in the car. I can't say for certain if the difference is because the intake flows more freely or if the ram air effect is what makes the difference but there is a noticeable difference in both performance and fuel economy.

 

That is quite a bold statement; care to elaborate?

 

It works, as you hear the blow off from the turbo for one, slightly better gas milage (1.2 mpg better than stock), and more power during acceleration. If all this is worth $400 to you, it's awesome, and I like it, but if you just want to be like everyone else, stick with what you got. It's a very easy install, 30 min tops.

 

i think the blowoff is always there... just that its always muffled in an enclosed system. if you did a DIY intake, you will hear it regardless, i dont think hearing the blowoff has anything to do with a ram airscoop

ive noticed better gas milage with a standards aftermarket intake...

more power.. .if its like 2-3 hp, meh, dont know how you are gonna be able to tell...

one thing that may be a plus is that for those who have this setup... any notice is the exterior hoodscoop temperatures? if it prevents the melting of the hoodscoop... that is a good thing.
