Tune needed?

Running a Milltek catback with a JCW intake. I'm about to install a 17% Alta pulley... will I need an immediate tune?

Scared of grenades, I'm coming from the Evo boards:D

Many a MINI is running that setup without issue. A Tune would be a great way to dial it all in, but you will enjoy the mods without fear of grenades.

Agreed. The tune isn't needed to ensure relisbility, but it will offer a substantial enhancement in power. Others, have their own favorites, but mine is the LDG (Lucky Dog Garage) tune from Behe Performance.

I am running a similar setup, I use my '04 MCS for a daily driver and never on the track, how does the tune effect mpg and longevity of the motor?

Fuel economy actually went up 2-3 mpg with the 15% pulley and the LDG tune on highway cruising. Under full throttle though, it only gets 6 mpg, but that typically lasts only about 5 seconds. Until the engine blows (now at 60k), I can't speak to longevity.

Definately get a tune, you will be happy with the performance. im runnning a 17% also, if you stepped up to 380'ss thats pretty good insurance. Talk to Jan over at RMW about a tune

Good luck!

Jack
