hdi box

I just wanted to check and see if anyone else with an hdi box fromm webb motorsports has had a problem with the welds that hold the intake tube going through the box breaking? All 3 of the tiny welds that held the tube in place broke and now it wobbles in the box after only 10k. I sent an email to webb about the problem but they haven't responded after a week. I hope the box they sell now isn't made so cheap

I noticed the same thing with my Sportbox. It seems the intake tube part was just tacked onto the box and not fully welded. Luckily, I haven't had any issues with mine. The easiest way to get it fixed is to find a shop that has welding equipment. It doesn't need to be fully welded, just more substantially tacked. Since the box is stainless, it's going to have to be welded with stainless wire if you don't want the welds rusting but it could be done either with a MIG or TIG. It shouldn't take very long for a decent welder to do the job, the hardest part is simply not burning through the thin metal.
