belt tensioner question

So about 1500 miles ago I changed my charger pulley to a 17% and put on a new gatorback belt. Today I was looking at my belt tensioner and i have just barley one hole showing on the belt tensioner (I'm not sure where it was when I reinstalled it but I know it was good).

So does that mean that the belt tensioner or the belt itself is bad? I figure it can't be the belt cause I just changed it but as the holes start disappearing on the belt tensioner is that a sign that it is going bad?

Let me know what you figure out; I have encountered the same problem but with a stock pulley and new standard size belt from the dealer.

Do a search on the same subject and you'll find a ton of info on Belt Tensioners - ease of replacement, belts by Napa, Goodyear, etc., and the search for the elusive little black damper.

Depending on the mileage of your car, the tensioner could be bad.

Sounds to me like you need a shorter belt to begin with. It will have some initial stretch to some degree which is why you see a partial hole.
