Installing K&N on R56 MCS- Do I have right part?

Hello,

Quick question before I start ripping things apart....

I'd like to swap out the stock air filter for a K&N. After taking off the cover of the air filter, the parts being swapped are noticeably different.

I'm assuming this is still correct but just want to verify before I take everything apart.

Is it correct that I remove the cylinder-shaped stock air filter (pic on the left) for the flat-shaped K&N filter (pic on the right)?

If so how do I take off the metal clasp connecting the rubber tube to the housing? (enlarge pic on left for detail)

Vehicle details:
2007 MCS, JCW tuning kit

thanks for any advice.

Wrong filter! Dont take anything apart yet!! u have the JCW kit, that K&N filter is for a stock non-jcw intake. sorry, hope u can return it!

If u want to replace the JCW filter for a hi=flow piece here are some options:

That's a bummer - wrong part. I got the wrong advice on here a few months back before I ordered it (its been sitting in a box waiting for install).

Thanks for the suggestions regarding the other JCW high flow options.

Will the Mini Madness and Minispeed filters void the warranty? I know this is variable based on the dealership, but my local shop are a bunch of bung holes and look for reasons to say no.

thanks

Should not void ur warranty at all! if anything swap out the filters before taking it in...takes 15 mins.
