Downpipe setup for those with custom catbacks

Here is our first DP, we made for those who have custom catbacks etc.

Its a 3" and it comes with a loose flange so you can have your exhaust guy make your custom setup a bolt on so it looks clean.

If you want a 2.5" downpipe we can bang that out for you too.

3" $575. If you want 2.5" its a few bux cheaper.

Nice Hector!

I don't really see why you can't cut and put a flange where the factory one ends though....

Not knockin' ya, and I know you've explained it before, but I don't see why based on this picture. It looks like it can be done...

Very nice, looks sweet! Have any problems with CEL going off? I hear CELs are very easy to get with aftermarket DPs.

Great question.

I had a car come in with a custom 3" setup. The pipe started up in the tunnel right after the second cat. Most people are removing the second cat but I dont see the exhaust shop going pass that and making it right to the oem flange unless the customer asks for that. Also chances are for most people, their local exhaust shop cant do mandrel bends and if you notice those bends right after the OEM flex are pretty sharp so it will end up coming out cleaner, plus i have a flex in there already for them too.

I can however make just a short lil DP if you want for those having an invidia etc. Not 100% sure where the invidia falls though.

IM working on that now. Ive two so far on the road doing some testing and next week ill have one with no cat on it. That will be my greatest challenge .

These are 300 cel OBDii Carb approved cats. I can get some 200 and 100 cel setups but they wont pass a sniffer when they flow that good.

Cant wait for the results, I am interested in the 2.5" Downpipe if you can make it attachable to that flange Thumper was talking about and if no CELS pop unless I somehow get convinced to try the 3".

The Invidia goes right to where the stock exhaust bolts to. The flange is exactly the same as stock.

The Invidia deletes the 2nd cat and has a long resonator in the area where your downpipe goes to. I would not want to touch the Invidia and remove the resonator.

I'd be waaaaaaaaaaay excited if you did that

I can do a 2.5" but it cant do the same setup as the stock piece, i would have to get custom tooling made and its not worth it.

If you look at the OEM DP, right after teh bend it flares. I need atleast 3" of straight pipe from the tangent ( beginning of bend) to flair it out.

If you have a magnaflow custom setup then all you will need is for your exhaust shop to join the two, no need to bend the piping up.

I do have to say Hector made a pretty solid looking Downpipe. He dit it for my girl's car. I drove it for short time and the sound + way the car reacted was night and day. Spool time was faster and holding about 1 1/2 psi more boost on and off of overboost. So it is making more power.

The short while I drove it had no cel. I will have the fiance check back with a more detailed review since she has been driving it for the past day and a half.

Nice! But you gotta hate the city of Orlando for how fast they are with building permits!

Nice work on the pipes!

Here's a quick clip of the downpipe pictured above with added to my custom magnaflow cat-back.

I'll post some drive-by vids later on.

I'm so confused!

You said "I can however make just a short lil DP if you want for those having an invidia etc. Not 100% sure where the invidia falls though."

Yeah, i can make a Dp thats short and put a flange on it.

Take a look at my DP, right after t he cat take a look where the tangent is (has a black marker line on it).

That line falls almost where the OEM flange falls. As you can see I dont have space there to put a flange to mate to the stock catback or your invida. Also if you noticed the DP is bigger than the flange.
That is why if you want a DP for your setup which is where most of the power comes from, you will have to cut your invidia and weld a flange in it (which i supply).

lxjose6xl anyway you or your fiance could post up some pics of the connection of the custom 3" magnaflow cat-back to the Exhaust Depot 3" downpipe?

I am going to get the 3" custom magnaflow cat-back installed in about 2 weeks and would like to plan ahead by having the exhaust cut in a convenient spot for easy install of the Exhaust Depot dp in the future. Is there anything you would suggest i have the exhaust shop do, Hector, for the connection to the two go as smoothy as posssible?

Have your shop mount the DP on, then take the loose flange and bolt it on to the DP. Then have them start the catback from there. They slip their pipe into the DP in the back then weld it and wala, done.

Any progress with the DP with no cats? Be interested to hear a comparison between catted and de-catted DPs

*I'd also be interested in hearing a cat back (any will do) vs the same cat-back with an aftermarket DP*

Well if you ever decide to do a DP thats bolts on to the Invidia exhaust or to the stock exhaust. I want a 3'' with the 200 cell for me.

If not I will have to wait for Invidia or somebody else to do one! :(

Thank you.

Check out on youtube for sailorliz23.

There's clips of the same nature...revving with just the cat-back then with the DP and cat-back posted above. There's a big difference, a more throaty deeper popping sound.
