tip-in burble or does skynet have my car?

prior to having an obx and 380s installed at danny's last sunday, i had a loud, sharp closing-throttle burble and a nice even pull from ~3500rpm to 6800rpm (15%, 18 disk supertrapp, carnation hai, stock heat range ngk iridiums.)

i haven't had a jan tune yet. ( whenever mr. jet set limo riding no underpants rock star tuner gets some time. )

on the way home sunday in 103F heat, i had very little closing throttle burble. i disconnected the battery sunday night and have since gotten the closing throttle burble back along with increased mid range hp/torque and a running out of steam feeling for the last 1000 rpm (what i expected with this header.)

but now, 4 days later, i have a throttle tip-in burble. it sounds way cool, but i'm not sure isn't almost a stumble.

any of you dudes seen this?

well, i floored it this afternnon and it went into limp mode and throwing the check engine light.

i don't have a scanner, but i suspect it's running way rich: the lisa bonet colored supertrapp disks got totally black sooted all the way around this afternoon.

Yeah, sounds like something is wrong. Burble on tip-in is not a normal thing.

stored PO300 = generic random misfire

pending PO304 = cyl 4 misfire & PO108 = manifold absolute pressure / barometric pressure circuit high

i cleared these and disconnected the battery. the car ran wussy for a while, then started learning and didn't throw another cel.

any thoughts about the header and injectors being behind this?

There could be a number of reasons behind an engine misfire. I'd start checking the spark plugs & wires. If it's not those it could be a damaged coil pack or a damaged fuel injector.

the plugs were new last christmas - ngk iridiums in stock heat range.

but yesterday after i cleared the codes and disconnected the battery, the car ran not in limp mode. it wasn't as strong as it was just before the sel, but it got better and better throughtout 20 miles in the city (including the run on burble getting stronger and stronger) and it didn't throw the sel.

????????????
