Damaged Diff
During the rebuild of our racing MINI we decided to replace the open-diff with an LSD. Too our surprise this is what we found when we opened the case. This is a June 04 build with apx 15,000 miles. About 5000 are testing and racing miles. Also we did not hear or feel anything.

Anyone else seen this kind of damage?

The whole thing is going to the trash. But I thought some would want to see what a trashed diff looks like. I'm still not quit sure what caused the problem, except for the excessive inside wheel spin on mid speed turns.
The dealer would say stop loving your MINI!
I also hated the one wheel peel nipping out of corners. It'll be neat to see how my OBX diff handles some upcoming spirited exits! This clutch break-in is killing me!!!

I all ready cleaned up the magnet and no pic's. It was full of big chunks. The spider washer/shims were in about ten pieces. I surveyed the gear box and did not find any other damage.
