With all the ECU upgrades on the horizon, who else is waiting to see where the dust settles ???
If this MINI ECU Upgrade is ~$400, I would imagine that thisAMD MINI ECU upgrade would be competatively priced. Thoughts?

His, Chile RED all over, Madness Intake, Magnaflow, Helix pulley & RDR Swaybar
Hers, EB UJ on top, Bone Stock

>>The AMD MINI ECU upgrade looks cool!
Yep. Maybe downhill with a tailwind.
I'm optimistic but skeptical about the 209.
209 - 163 = 46. Let's say you get 20HP with the pulley upgrade. That means you need an ECU that gives you 26 more. Until I see it:

Addendum:
If that is a dyno graph at http://www.stratmosphere.com/mini_oneclick.htm that means 209 WHEEL HP.
Honestly to me, it looks like an excel chart.
Overpromise and underdeliver?

It looks like a good idea... but I trust Randy and his set up WAY more than these guys... this will be a big wait and see product. I like the idea of being able to put the map on a plug in tool, kind of like a USB key. It would be nice if Randy and Powerchip could use this tool, so we can switch back and forth... of course, he did mention a switch in the car to handle it!
Ram,
Looking at yoiur website, I'm wondering how an "exchange" costs more than an "outright", see quote from the URL.
"AmD Technik's Enlarged Throttle Housing Increase fuelling and airflow - right where you need it! Purchase outright or return your serviceable core and save!
$730 outright or
$760 exchange
($110 deposit) "
Or do I just mis-understand the definitions of exchange that saves which is normally less than being sold outright?
Thanks,
SMKKVK

Hi there,
No problem - $760-$110=$650
Basically, on an exchange basis, you pay $760, $110 of which is a core deposit which you get back when you return the standard unit in serviceable condition - total cost after exchange is therefore $650
This saves you having to pay just $650 and sending your old one to be modified, meaning you are in control of how long your car is off the road.
If you don't want an exchange, you just pay $730 and we send you a modified unit, meaning you keep your old unit as well.
Best wishes,
Ram
