You'd gain more power (Weight loss!) by wearing no socks that day. This isn't a racing application, you're not going to gain 5-6 HP from changing your oil. The design tolerances on these engines are wide and varied.
Rusty you should never say never, like everything in life sometimes its not what you know but who
Perhaps, but 6 HP from a different viscosity oil with the stock 1.6 engine block?
No numbers have been mentioned yet for the oil, thats why I want to test it to see if it can gain hp
Rusty would you buy the oil if it did give a gain? When you think some people buy CAI,exhausts and other performance parts to gain HP and if an oil change could give a similar gain it would be worth it IMO. I am just very interested to see if oil can produce/release more power. It is the same grade oil as well as OEM.

Reason: More info
Posted numbers to illustrate that total boost pressure means nothing. There are cars out there that push 30-40 PSI of boost and still only make ~300 whp.

We've tried running thinner/thicker oil. There wasn't really any gain in power, it's more important that you don't have too much or too little oil. I'd shy away from running a thinner oil because the oil temps in the MCS are already so hot it's ridiculous.
As for whether I'd buy it, I'm quite happy with the performance of my car at this point, but if there was an oil that offered equal protection with more power, I'd consider swapping mine out. I'm concerned that anything thinner than 5w30 is going to cause the oil temps to go even higher though.
I noticed you changed your initial question on your first post. A 19% reduction would be unwise with an 8200 RPM redline, yes. You're already going to be over-spinning the SC at those RPM's with a 15%.

Just been side tracked.
The question was for 17% as I would not fit 19%. What do you have your redline set at with your 15%?
I will wait for the results of the oil, but it is the same grade as OEM
How much power difference was there from 7500 to 8250?
Not much, the higher RPM redline is really only so you can ring the motor out longer (Make it down the straight without shifting). My car has some other stuff on it that we're testing though so at this point my redline and what power I make is irrelevant. I only made a few more HP at 8250 over other cars with similar mods at 7200. With his cam you'd probably make a bit more power on the top end (higher RPM's).

He's been mapping most of the new cars with 7600 or so. Only he can answer that though. Which car is yours? I've been at Danny's almost every day this week, seen a lot of cars .
