Drivetrain NYC One-Ball
NYC One-Ball
I've read pretty much all there is to read regarding the one-ball mod and have decided to get it done.
It seems like a lot of people are getting it done at "local muffler shops" between 50 and 100 bux. I went to a Midas by my house and they wanted 200
and weren't even going to use a mandrel to bend the piping!
Everything else in my area just seems to be a pretty generic mechanics shop and I haven't gone to any of them thinking that if Midas doesn't have a mandrel, they wouldn't either.
Now to the point... Does anyone in the NYC area know of a specific place I could go to have this done, or can anyone tell me what kind of place I should be looking for that has pricing that is more on par with people say they are having it done for?? I know everything else in the city is more expensive, but I really don't want this to be one of them
Thanks

It sounds like you are being taken. Sometimes franchise shops are no better when it comes to ripping people off. Dress yourself down and don't wear any name brands when you see your next mechanic and be able to fully articulate what you want done and this way you will be far less likely to get ripped off. I would go to any nearby garage where the people spoke fluent english. It sounds bad but it is what it is or you could make a trip to Westchester county.
