on the same vein as the getrag gearbox question, I may have come across a redundant "S" head after a JCW convesion, and I wonder what would be the benefits / pros (eg power torque etc) over technical dificulties - pistons / etc that may have to be changed?

The S head and pistons make a significantly lower conpression-ratio
system, so by themselves, it will certainly lower the performance
of a stock MINI Cooper.

But you might get better fuel economy.
