Alta BOV

hi everyone,

i just realized alta has just released the new BOV and i wonder what does it do? it is becuase there is not much information on their website.

Does it make the turbo blow off sound louder and better? any hp gains?

Comparing to forge BOV, Alta has a much higher price. Does it worth getting?

Thanks everyone~!!

I believe that the Alta BOV is a release-to-atmosphere type BOV as opposed to the OEM recirculatory type BOV. The OEM is designed to be quiet as opposed to the Alta which will make the very appealing WHOOOOSH or PSHHHH type noise. The only downfall i see which i cannot yet confirm is that with aftermarket type BOV's like Alta and Forge will cause the car to run rich after letting off the gas.

^it definitely will, assuming the airflow sensor is before the bov..

if you get into the subaru world, everyone hates atmospheric bov's, and they're talking about some serious power.

Unless you're planning on seriously modding your car and getting a larger turbo, there's no need for anything other then oem...

Agreed to all of the above. There is no need for a BOV on our cars, and will most likely cause more harm than any benefit.

I just did the "DIY Intake" and it gives all the BOV noise you could ever want. So much so that I think I'm going to go back to stock...but then again, its getting kind of addicting!

You wont see any HP gains from changing the BOV. I doubt it would run rich with the atmospheric since it doesn't run an AFM.

I've had the Alta BOV in my 07 MCS for about 7 months now and it's really nice. It's not super loud or annoying but it lets people know your running boost.
