For that price, even if it only lasted a year and you had to rebuy, you'll come out on top for sevral years.

Actually, thats for a Cooper not an S. And thats what Ive had on my car for the last few years. People are crazy to pay $200+ for the same thing from K&N. And before everyone starts hatin on that comment...if you change your oil every 5-10K on full synthetic there is no reason why the most crappy of crap filters wont do the job....

Is that the same intake throttle body hose as the alta? Similar?

I would totally sport a bright green intake. You could always put a better filter on it too.

I highly doubt that's a K&N for $6.

I'd be concerned with the filtering capabilities of that CAI.

Even if it had a 100 micron filtration rating...if you change your oil regularly...who cares. It's not worth the extra $200+ for me on a filter. That's all I was saying.

Even so, you can buy that and slip on a real KAN for elss than the price of a $200 intake.

yeah right, adds 8-15 HP. aftermarket intakes, even quality ones add probably max 2hp, if you are not losing anything to begin with.

Some of you forget that some people are on a budget. Skip the name brands sometimes....and I mean sometimes. In some cases you get what you pay for, but honestly, the only thing I see wrong with that intake is the filter. Like someone stated before, just buy an aftermaketfilter to fit it, and you still come out on top. It doesn't have to be K&N either. Vibrant makes a hell of a filter that is cheap. Some of these parts are no different than what people machine in their garage. Now, am I going to buy a $9 short shift kit off ebay? Probably not, but usually we can all judge on what is a decent product and what might cause problems later down the line.

Of course they are going to state that, because doesn't the name brand companys state these same claims?

LoL. Funny you mentioned cheap short shifters. On my old Honda, I bought an ebay shortshifter which lasted a few weeks before it actually snapped in half jamming it into second. I rethreaded it and put the shiftknob back on it and it became a super-shortshifter. Didnt last very long before it snapped in half again= 1/4 of original size lmao. Decided to buy a name brand after that and never had problems since. Thought I'd share that

evn if yew jus use the intake tube its a $31 dollar intake tubeas opposed to a hundred dollar Alta tube.(not bashin Alta just usin them as an example.) Ebay is cool fer some parts if yew browse through the hundreds of pages of "MINI" parts.I got a NIB K&N Typhoon fer my R53 $169 shipped to my door.Theres name brand stuff there.I just thos that was an amazing price evn if yew just wanted to hang it in yer garage lol
