PGT...You must have a hankering for an R56 as you seem to have a lot of interest in my thread...

A smooth surface does not meen better airflow
as air sticks to the surface slowing down the gases, by breaking up airflow
(vortex generators) better flow is experienced. As for my choice of finish
all I can say is.... live with it..

NY_R56 I will have an exact delivery date later this afternoon, but with that said it will ship next week for sure as all the necessary parts are in house and ready to go.

I do not have an image of the Vortex scoop in black gel-coat
as it should always be painted before use.

PS. Just got a call from my sheet metal guy and he said that the units are going in to powder coating Monday/Tuesday. So yes we will start to ship
next week...

I have an interest to know if it's possible to out-engineer BMW. I'm still waiting to see proof positive, that's all.

that's why the air force coats their planes in Astroturf right? better laminar flow?

then again, those guys who put faux fur on the superbikes must be on to something

PLease give me a break, just look around your own car will you!
How many stock parts are left on your engine IE. Pulley, head
cam, intake, exhaust, fuel injectors, intercooler etc.

As I said, I like the black finish I added to "My" scoop.....

awesome! let's do that - the head is P&P from a stock head. Intake is JCW. Injectors are Bosch, exact same as JCW, just more flow. Intercooler is OEM. Only two things are substantially different - the exhaust and the cam (though the cam has stock idle and needs no mods to the head unlike other cams).

You guys have all sorts of cool testing stuff right? Let's see some flow and temp numbers for the scoop, the intake, etc.

I know, I know, it's ok to say it "shut up and buy my products already". I get dozens of PM's a day asking for advice. I've worked on a few R56's so far. Although I'm not buying anything personally, that doesn't mean I can't ask for info to support a recommendation for when someone asks me to help mod their car.

As I'm sure you know, parts are put into a consumer/economy car with many factors in mind, not simply performance. Noise and cost are two of the first ones that come to mind on a car that isn't an all out "performance car."

Not to mention that you kind of made Randy's point for him - if BMW were the be all and end all of engineering and couldn't be out engineered, then why did you bother making any of the mods you did?

Randy said he'll post numbers, let him post numbers. There are plenty of people who will want to buy the system for the looks/sound alone, and those that want to wait for numbers will do so.

Well Peter was at the Dyno the other day doing some testing it seems (Saw him there while we were tuning a few cars). I won't spoil the fun though, let him post the results.

Hey that stuff is no joke. They applied it to the top of a truckbed and blew it up, the liner contained all the shrapnel. They did the same thing with a building. It kept the building standing. Not sure what application it would have on a velocity stack, but interesting nontheless .

Rustyboy sorry to hear that the dyno guy spilled the beans after I explicitly
asked him not to....

I'm sure that the owner will really like that when I tell him I'm not coming
back to his place.

As for what I was up to... all I can say, it was not to test the Super-AGS as the final tweaked product is ready to test later this week.

And finaly yes the numbers where....

Who said the dyno guy spilled any beans? Your Dyno was up on the computer, I walked over and looked (Not to mention there were two people there that watched the dyno pull).

Not sure what the dyno shop has to do with anything. I have enough class not to post your results on here. You're testing stuff, test away. I was just saying that you dynoed the car, and had numbers. I'll leave it up to you to post them as you see fit

The screen was left blank after we printed out the graps and numbers, as I knew you guys would snoop around....And I was right sorry to say.

Had nothing to do with the dyno guy...I was there as well, I saw your dyno run myself as it was happening. All I can say, is I hope your testing goes well with whatever it is you're doing...looks like it needs it .

On the bright side...your car looks great!

Dunno what to tell ya, it was right there on the screen.

Folder: Peter '07 Mini S turbo
Run ID: baseline chip
etc etc...

Like I said, no need to snoop, Thumper ---^ watched the dyno pull. He could have told us what the results were.

The dyno guys weren't even in the room when we walked over and looked.

We have nothing to hide, I already posted graphs and video from one of the car's that we tuned.

If you don't want to go back to that dyno anymore, don't go, there are hundreds of dyno's in LA, Church's is booked 2-3 days in advance most of the time, I'm sure they're not going to go out of business if you decide to go elsewhere.

You guys need to come out to the track once you get your car sorted out and put down some real metrics. All this dyno racing BS is silly.

I am kinda annoyed as to why its taking so long to post some type of dyno numbers....

I am very patient and understanding when it comes to a company releasing a new product, but what annoys me is selling the product, but NOT having any info on what the gains are.

I doubt you'll ever see any dyno results. They still haven't posted any info on the first version of the "AGS" for the R53...

I thought the first version AGS (AGS-R) was for the R56 MINI not the R53?

The AGS-"R" is for the R56.

The AGS (I think they went through 3 versions) is for the R53, and was the first intake M7 sold, before they hijacked Randy Webb's design on the DDM HDI box. M7 stopped selling the DDM/HDI box (At least the original one that looked exactly like Randy's) after their M62 project blew up.

Pics of the AGS V3:

The thing is, people buy it just for the sound it makes. If that is what they want, then it's worth it.
