Alta ECU problem- engine problem?

Sooo after installing the alta ecu I decided to have some fun. At the end of 3rd gear I heard what sounded like a loud pop and the CEL went on and boost was lost completely. I turned off and turned the car back on to reset the turbo. The turbo still works but my car feels very slow now am I the only one whos this happen to?

Do you have a boost guage? Perhaps a boost tube came loose, I'd probably start there

Thanks for the quick reply I checked on it again didnt checking tubes i will shortly. no smoke out exhaust showing its not an internal problem and turbo doesnt seem to be spooling. Happen to know if theres a common place where the tubes detatch?

The lack of power is probably due to a boost leak. The increase in boost pressure from the ECU could have popped a boost tube loose. It's not really a big deal, just find the loose tube and tighten it down. If the tubes are fine it could be something more serious, perhaps a bad diverter valve?

Hmm if it happens to be a bad divert valve how would I get that checked without dealing with the dealership?

Whered you have your mods installed? Or did you do them yourself? Again, I would start with the boost tubes. Thats probably all it is.

Probably not much help but I recently blew my DV valve out at around 20psi. Do they have a history of failure? I figured I just got unlucky.

I don't think Mini's have a history of diverter valve failures, but ive read about common failures of valves on Audi 2.0T's with software upgrades. The diaphragm inside is rubber and it has a habit of breaking when boost is raised

it might just need to reset itself, if it persists you might have to remove the alta ecu

Have them reset the code the MAF cel is caused because the MAF is Preturbo so when the pipe was off the system was broken and what the MAF read was not what the engine was taking-in.

Glad you got it solved. Can be quite a fright!

After clearing the CEL. After a few miles of driving i keep getting the CEL with the codes: P2243 - 02 Bank Sensor 1 (Reference Voltage Circuit/Open) and P0130 02 Sensor Circuit Malfuntion (Bank 1 Sensor 1)....Anyone know any possible solutions in what can be causing this problem? ( I started getting the CELs after the tube came off)

I would start by reconnecting the ECU connectors. Take them off, look for bent or pushed out pins. Reconnect and try it again.

If the tube came off, the CEL will remain for 10-15 start cycles. Have you actually cleared the codes using a code scan / reset tool? If not the codes will keep coming back.

Let us know!

Wow, Adam hard worker I see helping customers at midnight Nice to see Altas always there for you regardless of the time .I cleared it around 3-4 times in the past 2 days but everytime I clear it, it seems like it takes longer for it to come back on, since you mentioned cycle I am thinking after a certain amount of times it'll clear up permanently. I also bumped into this

if not then do it all over again and let the battery sit longer. maybe an hour.
Should I give it a shot? Im using a OBDII BR-CAN TOOL at home and I used the one that Advance Auto Parts supply. Its night at the moment but will check for those bent or pushed out pins. I unplugged the ECU for tomorrow to see if the CEL will show up. ( I am going to feel sad and lonely without me ECU for one day )
