Drivetrain Dimsport remote Tuning.
Without the fan on your intercooler your killing the hp. Without the fan it's like tuning your car while it sits at a stop light. You want the tuner to set the parameters while the cars temps are as close your real world driving conditions as possible.
The fans at most dyno's don't really come close to replicating 50 mph road wind. So... make sure they at least have a high powered small fan to sit or hold over the intercooler.

The BLUE tube is attached to a large orange fan (like the one on the left) and then duct taped to the IC. Later on we, used a leaf blower, dryer tubing and attached it to a cardboard box that fit over the IC.
This is exactly what our second generation looked like - BUT NOT AS PRETTY. This is exactly what you need for MCS on the dyno.
I posted our original design and at the dyno some people did not want to use it so we dynoed some cars, first run w/out it and hooked it up for the second run and saw HP gains of 2 hp.
NICE JOB

that was alot of fun! great idea. it added about 3-4 HP! maybe i could get that mounted somewhere on the car and we could market them??
We only have one dyno
here in AK, it's a dyno-jet... will that work? I'm assuming that the parts that one would have for a day handles the download/upload to the ECU, right?
If you can do it on the above machine, I'd like to get on the list.

Looks like I have a DynoJet local to me as well. If that's acceptable, I gotta get the guy to understand I don't want Joe Blow that tunes all sorts of cars tuning the Mini. I want Jan the Mini Man to tune the Mini. Still waiting to see if he gets past that.
yes it will work, the only problem with dynojets is they are inertia dynos and will hide some of the torque fluctuations. Great for tuning high hp cars as 5-8 ft lbs fluctuations here and there under the curve don't matter...
on a Mini however... it's huge
Well, it's the best option I have, otherwise it's a blind canned tune or piggyback chip. I have no interest in a unichip-type setup. So let me know how/when we can do this, and cost. I eventually will want to add your head, cam, 440's and possibly header; I would want to use my existing head (low-miles car, and I suspect a strong car stock). Please PM with cost, turnaround, etc. This would be a winter project, I usually park it Dec-Feb just because I don't want to get crushed by an out of control SUV/pick-up, and the roads are basically ice then.
we have tuned cars in England already
I am in Detroit currently tuning a bunch of cars
I hope to have someone locally do a setup where I work with the system I have here currently to make sure the files transfer properly on this setup. If it goes like the England version then we can move forward

There was a ratty Honda being tuned in the next bay that had an obnoxiously loud exhaust. They must have done 24 dyno pulls with that POS - we wanted to shoot it!! At the end, he got 228 Whp. My nice quiet MCS (Milltek) did 5 dyno pulls and end up with 229 Whp!!
and Craig is right... my ears were bleeding chunks after the Honda
So what ever happened with DynaPack? Is yours still on order and did they ever get their one back here in Fresno?

we are trying to satisfy everyone but it is becoming difficult to find people capable of understanding how to setup the car so I can effectively tune it.
this is why we are traveling around to set up authorized shops around the country etc to do this
the demand for Remote tuning is high

Yes to speedfactory and Detroit tuned. Ekstens in Rochester and Rennhaus in Sarasota.
Hartford is Bishop Motorsports.
Let's not forget Helix in Philly
Hey Jan, will any of the shops in Dallas have the capability. i know you are out there fairly often. just didnt know if there was an option out there
