>>Kind of hard to describe the change in sound. It raises the pitch slightly and smooths out the sound overall. One person who heard it said it sounds like an Indy car. Currently have no way to post a sound file.

Miltek and London Stainless headers are supposed to be from the same builder. Sound is supposed to be affected less than with other headers so it depends on which header/sport cat you choose. As always it is best to find a car with it installed to hear it for yourself and decide. I think supersprint headers are a bit louder.

I have the Magnaflow with the Supersprint. It produces a REAL MEAN  sound.
It pretty much tells people that it is not the "cute little car" they thought it was
The gurgle/pop sound is way cool.

So this "sound" maybe good or not. Certainly some people really like more sound while others do not.
Powerwise you get a bit more from Miltek or LS (maybe 9 to 12 HP but also higher prices) vs Supersprint (maybe 6 HP)

I recently heard an MCS with Mini mania header with sport cat and Magnaflow. The owner says he hears that it is louder now whereas before he thought it was mildly loud. I thought that under full throttle it was really loud (high volume of sound) ranging from a low throaty idle to a brash almost buzzing/rasping tone for a moment.

Definitely makes a statement with in your face exhaust sounds.
I don't think that it is overly loud. Still pretty darn good.

What's the diameter of the tip on the Magnaflow for the MC? It looks pretty friggin' huge. Right now, that's the only thing keeping me away from it.

It is BIG. As it should be- it is a Magnaflow!
02-03 1.6L I-4, Standard,
6x6x14" Muffler, 2.25" Tubing, Rear Exit,

4" Tip !!!!

I can hear you a block away!
I think it is a pretty nice aggressive exhaust for the MC.
If you are not into BIG then consider the Helix.

I think it definetly adds horsepower and it is definetly loud!! Too loud for me and I
just took it off the Mini and put it up for sale.
I must be getting old!! Or better yet OLDER!

Regards
