Alta intake hose install - quick question

finally got a hold of an alta intake hose to complete my cai

do i need to remove the big plastic intake that comes from the grill and feeds into the bottom of the original intake box in order to get to the clamp on the throttle body of the oem hose? does that plastic piece come and and go back in easy? does it matter if I keep it out?

thanks

You don't have to remove it, but it makes it easier to get too. It is pretty easy to remove and reinstall. I would reinstall it if you remove it as it feeds cool air from the grill directly to the box
