3" inch custom cat back...pics...video

So just came from the Muffler shop and had installed 3" SS piping from the cat back ending with a magnaflow muffler with 3.5" tips on Gordon. Here are some pics and also a quick clip of the exhaust.

The exhaust is a lot quieter than my husbands' same set up that goes up to the end of the DP (removing 2nd cat). It is a lot quieter specially at idle, low revs, and during engine braking. However when you step on it, the same sweet sound comes out and no drone on the highway.

And one of a couple of weeks ago just after a bath!!

Here are the additional requested video clips:

Inside w/ windows up about 60% throttle

I really like it! Sound is perfect, I think that's the route I will go as soon as my car is in.

The tips look great as well. Would love if you guys could get some interior sound clips of both of your cars.

Thanks for the compliment. We might actually pass by a closed road later on and take some videos, including some drive-bys as well as interior soudn clips.

haha, thanks to your i also have a custom 3" to a magnaflow. it sounds even sweeter in person.

This is the perfect solution for those of you who want an exhaust but dont want to fork over 800 bucks. Most likely you will pay less than half of that... i know i did.

It really does sound better in person. I was driving next to her yesterday and I kept asking her to give it more gas.

Ended up paying $340 this time. I think anything under $400 for a cat-back is acceptable.

Ghosthound, You have 4" tips right?

list of what is needed?

Thanks for the info - I am thinking of doing this but do not know what to ask for when I go to a Muffler shop - any chance anyone can list out what I need to do this? Also, should I use a place that is a Magnaflow dealer?

Thanks for your help - Mark

yeah, mine are the 4 inch double wall slash cut.

i agree on the price as well... anything under 400 is reasonable but i think on average it is costing around 350 for the 3" with magnaflow tips and muffler.

For those looking to do this, just look around for various muffler shops and ask for quotes. All of the places i looked around at happened to be magnaflow dealers but i dont think its necessary.

If you go to the website performancepeddler.com you can use the code clubgp and get extra money off. From what i have found, they offer the cheapest prices for the parts. I was able to get my local mufflershop to price match them so it was a lot faster and easier. IF they couldnt match the price i would have just ordered from that site.

yea guys all you need is a muffler and tips. the pipe is usually custom made by the muffler shop. just look for tips and a muffler you want on performancepeddler.com as suggested above (which is what we did with our second mini) and hopefully they will price match you.

Miami mufflers in Cutler Bay. They do great work and next to the muffler shop they have an online distributor so they always have the parts in stock. Both our Minis were done there. its on 186th terr and 105 Ave. If you do go, they open around 8 Am if you want to be taken care of quickly, they have a lot of business.

Which model Magnaflow did you order? I'm going to go this route as well. Also, anyone in ATL (NE) know a good shop?

Cool. Couple more questions:

1) did you use a resonator or just straight 3" SS to this rear exhaust can?
2) Part number for tips?

Thanks!
