Found searching "best CAI" and then reading subject lines.

Ask 10 people get 10 different answers...

It all depends what you want out of a CAI. Lots of people like the Alta. Some because of the noise that it makes.

Me I like the JCW CAI because of the noise it doesn't make. It's quiet until you pick up the revs past 4000 then it makes a sweet noise. Just my .02 here.

I'd suggest a search because there are tons of discussions.

I'm sure someone will jump on me for this suggestion.

Bart...How inconsiderate of you to suggest someone avails themselves of the poor quality search tool.

There you've been jumped on.

Thats it folks, no more jumping on Bart. I've handled it. All y'all's can thank me later.

And be careful posting "best" threads. It can get a bit rough on the preceding threads. And, it gets there quick. But there are a ton of intakes. Buy what ever you feel like spending the money on. Look for something with a large filter element and a delete to the factory heat cowling, so you get all kinds of good clean air. If you want loud SC noise get the alta w/ intake hose.

Perhaps I could just replace the stock unit with a "can of worms"

you got off lucky

. . . I bear the scars you avoided . . . advice . . . always define "best" or never use it on NAM . . . I installed Pandora's air box. . . I tried the can of worms . . . too gooey.

I am installing madness CAI this weekend to replace Pandora . . . too many issues . . .

seriously

Good advice I received - find a used one in the marketplace, try it out.

If you don't like sell it and try a different one.

I got a great deal from a fellow NAM'er.

I love my Ultrik. It's about as loud as the Alta.
