More Forge!

When GB installed my Forge intercooler, I was a little too busy to take some pictures. Today while he was fitting zero7 with the body kit, I took the oportunity to snap some shoots of the Forge Intercooler and to show the workmanship on this products, top top for me.

GB had to shave a bit of the JCW front lower grille, the Forge lower grille included on the kit didn't fit the space on the front JCW bumper, But it was not big deal.

here are some shots, looks amazing compared to the OEM piece, which looks like a first generation motorola cell phones.,.

I do not know anything about ALTA's products, only what I read on here, which is for the most part great stuff.

I clipped this from forge motorsports website, Pete from www.minspeed.net will be a more assertive person to contact for technical details>>>

For the 2007 onwards model (R56) BMW Mini Cooper S Turbo we have developed a more efficient intercooler. As a reduction in intake air temperature increases the density of the charge mixture within the combustion cylinder any temperature reductions will equate to more power. This intercooler is constructed using a combined 80/40mm high thermal efficiency core, with a 250% larger surface area and a 125% thicker base core, to achieve the best possible results.
As you can see from the graph below we have achieved a significant reduction in temperature.

In fact even in relatively low road speeds / air velocities our intercooler was able to better the OEM unit by nine degrees centigrade, with greater improvements being achievable during greater speeds during track testing. The replacement intercooler is supplied with all the mountings and a replacement lower grill to allow ease of installation. Please note that this kit has been designed to fit behind the original Cooper S front panel. If an alternative aftermarket front panel has been installed, where clearances are reduced, additional trimming may be required.

Looks great. Love the front mount. My top choice by far so far.

I just received the Forge BOV today from Moss. Aftermarket parts already and our MINI is still being built . Just our of curiousity, does anyone forsee any warranty problems having the BOV installed? My local dealer said the stock BOV warranty is void, obviously; but they also said that any engine related problems that can be traced back to the BOV will be void as well. What are the chances of that?

Any comments?

It may...One thing one has to consider is the possibility of voiding warranties when we start modding our MINIs, it is worth it?........
