MADNESS CAT BACK?

Hey all, just wondering if any of you had the Madness Cat Back Exhaust on your MINIs. I've been looking for a new exhaust to replace the OEM one and stumbled across this one.

I'm honestly only looking for sound. If I increase my HP, even better, but I want something a little deeper and more bad-*** than the OEM one.

So if any of you have any videos or anything, please post! Youtube only had one video, and the quality was horrible.

~MM

I visited MINI-Madness a few weeks ago and George showed me their Cat-back exhaust. It was gorgeous looking. But George told me it was designed to extract as much power as possible without creating a big noise. This would suit me because it would give my car the "sleeper" treatment. The car would appear and sound almost stock until you stomp on it. It would also keep my neighbors from getting angry at me. I'm sure Madness also has a louder exhaust. However, if it's loud you want, Alta's is pretty loud.

Probably when I'm ready to get an exhaust, I will either go with JCW or Madness. They are comparable, but the Madness is much more cost effective.

I'm running a Madness v2 on WINO and I really like it. Its got a good, throaty sound, burbles well and certainly didn't hurt the hp.

Now if I could only get a new set of tips from them......

I was looking at the Alta one as well. I'm not really wanting the fart can wake-your-neighboors-up kind of exhaust. Just something with a nice throaty sound and more burble than the stock one.

~MM with the Detailers Warehouse hat on.

It should, I know who designed it and it was specifically designed with the crush for the convertibles.

Why so large tho?

It really looks from the pic on the website to be a real reduction in size.....is that the case?

I think the pictures make it look more dramatic than it really is. They just take the pipe feeding the mufflers and squish it down, so all the volume of the original pipe is there it's just augmented.

Crimping a pipe will reduce the volume, unless the pipe diameter has been increased prior to crimping.
