New Borla Race Exhaust Question

Hey guys, I just purchased a new Borla Race Exhaust, and upon receiving the exhaust I noticed that the tips were different... The size of the Borla logo on the top of the exhaust is slightly smaller on the right tip, and the way that the exhaust bevels on the inside is different on the right tip. My question is... Are all of the Borla exhausts like this or did i just get a messed up one? Its not that noticeable, but even my g/f who doesn't know that much about cars (yet) noticed it before I even told her... Just curious...

The tips on my Boral Sport/Race exhaust were the same. I would get the exhaust replaced.

My tips on mine are matching also. You should get a hold of them and send them a few pics.

Hey guys, here are some pictures of the exhaust if you want to see it... I am going to try to call them monday and see if I can just send back the rear portion of the exhaust, and have it swapped out...

That is pretty weird. You would think that one of the assembly or quality control people would have caught that type of discrepancy.

When my Borla Resonator went bad and the muffler got a tear, I had to work a replacement exhaust through the distributor. I only live 1.5 hours from Borla and they would not direct ship the replacement from Borla to my house, it had to go to the distributor first (in a different state). I was able to return the bad exhaust directly to Borla but that took a lot of work to coordinate.

Thus, you should probably contract the distributor before calling Borla. I think part of the reason that Borla works through the distributor is because the exhaust is only warrantied for the original owner. Good Luck. Let us know how it all turns out.

You would think huh. Hard to miss such a mistake. I guess they don't have inspector #12 for that matter they don't have 1 or 2 or 3, .......

Seems like your taking it well, I would have gone ballistic.

Other than the problem with the tips, how do you like the new Borla? Sound good? Did it fit nicely... Any installation troubles???

I love the exhaust, it sounds great... its a little more 4cylinder sounding then I wanted, but it is very nice... I am just used to my 300zx twin turbo with full turbo back exhaust which is a much deeper tone... The borla to me, took the stock exhaust and just made it louder in tone... its very nice, fit is extremely nice, and the install took about 20 minutes... but I had a lift so that helped speed up the process...
